About me

There is no denying it: I, Janice Lawandi, am a really good eater. And if I sniff some soup that my dad reheated for his lunch (loaded with Tabasco), I am sure to find a spoon and dig in alongside him, even if I've already eaten my lunch.

As a kid, I'd eat pretty much everything. I was the kind of kid that would order "escargots" with a serious look of intent because that's what I wanted.

Now, I am all grown up, and I still will eat pretty much anything (even if the menu reads "snake fish head"). In my own kitchen, I love to bake. In fact, I baked my way through most of my PhD, sharing it all with my friends who encouraged me to bake more. Baking was an outlet from the daily-grind of lab work.

I am now in search of a life filled with baking, love, and laughter. I'd love to open a bakery. A girl can dream.

This is my blog, filled with my stories, musings, and recipes. I also write about cooking in Montreal for the Montreal edition of Examiner.com.
